WOMEN IN NEED SOCIETY (WINS)
Women In Need Society (WINS) is a charitable not-for-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta. Established in 1992, WINS operates four thrift stores throughout Calgary, which includes a free goods referral program that services clients from over 60 partnering agencies in the community. As well, WINS now operates three Family Resource Centres in low-income housing areas. In 2009, WINS developed the Sustainable Livelihoods Employment program working in conjunction with our thrift stores as a social enterprise. CALGARY INTER-FAITH FOOD BANK
The Calgary Food Bank is a crisis facility to feed Calgarians in need. Individuals and families receive hampers containing enough food for approximately one week to a maximum of six hampers per year. |
